SEE HOW HIGH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES US.

WE GROW INTO HIS LIKENESS

Today’s chapter is Hebrews 12

Read the section, verse refers to.

As we grow and develop as children of God, our character is transformed more and more by the life of the Holy Spirit’s power, life in and with Jesus transforms us, step by step. Our thoughts become more God-centered and our desire becomes more and more to develop into what God has planned for us.

Instead of living a self-centered life, we want to live a Christ-centered life - We want to do God’s will, and we discover the importance of being obedient to the Word.

As babies grow, they begin to crawl and right now we are focusing on that in the family with our 2 youngest grandchildren: Look, they are crawling - Soon they will begin to walk. When they begin to walk, they stumble many times. They struggle to keep their balance – while siblings, parents and grandparents rejoice at the development of the child.

Look, she is walking.

With the first small steps, temptation often comes into life. We know this from children, they seek out what they are not allowed to do, and do something that is “forbidden” or dangerous.

We also make mistakes or stumble in our walk of faith. God’s Word says:

WHEN WE CONFESS OUR SINS, WE CAN BE SURE THAT HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST. HE FORGIVES US AND CLEANSES US FROM ALL IMPURITY. 1 John 1:9

God wants us to grow and develop ALL OUR LIFE, despite mistakes and shortcomings.

A life of continued growth and spiritual development and we are raised by Him along the way:

GOD’S COMMISSION IS ALWAYS JUST AND ONLY SERVES FOR OUR OWN GOOD. IT IS AIMING TO PARTICIPATE IN HIS GLORY.

AT THE MOMENT, DISCIPLINE MAY SEEM TO BE MORE DEPRESSING THAN ENCOURAGING. BUT IN THE LONG TERM, THOSE WHO ACCEPT CORRECTION ARE REWARDED WITH PEACE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS. Hebrews 12:11

God is a loving FATHER. He does not cast us off when we make mistakes. He nurtures us so that we may grow in a healthy spiritual way—Spiritual growth is not dependent on age—but on obedience to the Word.

Don’t despair—We are all on a journey, and by obedience to the Word, we continue to grow.

He also promises us that we will be like Jesus when we see Him in Heaven:

SEE HOW HIGH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES US.

HE HAS ALLOWED US TO CALL US HIS CHILDREN, AND WE REALLY ARE!

PEOPLE IN THE WORLD DO NOT KNOW GOD AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE HIS CHILDREN.

WE ARE ALREADY CHILDREN OF GOD. BEloved, BUT TODAY WE CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT THE FUTURE WILL LEAD TO. BUT ONE THING WE KNOW IS THAT WHEN JESUS COMES AGAIN, WE SHALL BECOME LIKE HIM, BECAUSE THEN WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS. EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS HOPE IN HIM KEEPS HIMSELF PURE, JUST AS HE IS HOLY AND PURE

Just as Jesus is pure, we are already pure because of the blood of Jesus.

We are grafted by God into the vine John 15, and we are pruned to bear more fruit, it is part of the growth.

Amen
